Ben Cating is gifted in seeing new and better ways to do things. His blending of computer programming with audio and video expertise has revolutionized the way our company approaches systems design. In addition, his ability to design for environments in which audio, video and data are converging make Ben a vital designer for some of our most high-tech projects and as a project manager has the capacity to balance client goals for user-experience, cost-efficiency and flexibility.
With well over 100 projects in his portfolio, Ben understands the needs of campuses and large-scale venues and the architectural, electrical and mechanical accommodations needed to facilitate technology that is rapidly changing. He is highly-experienced in planning the cabling infrastructure needed for complex systems.
Ben is responsible for innovation in the area of projection calculations and predictions. His research on the effects of ambient light, projector output, and optimal screen material and sizing have given new accuracy and precision to the final look of our projection system designs. Ben has changed our computer-aided drafting by writing visual basic and visual LISP programming to increase efficiency. He is also responsible for contributing to many of the design tools in the Innovation section of our website.
An electrical engineering graduate from Louisiana Tech, Ben worked for both an a/v design-build firm and an electrical contracting firm prior to joining Acoustic Dimensions in 2003.
Ben is a senior consultant in our Dallas office.
