Jason Foster’s talent is in inspired approaches to spaces that create experience−not just in static design, but in the dynamic qualities of rooms that change in their use.
Jason joined our team in 2005 with a background in stage and lighting design for theatre. His years of working in a world where “the show must go on” honed his ability to develop creative solutions on a tight deadline which translated easily into the design and construction world.
As part of our rapid prototyping team, Jason interfaces with clients to go from conversations to conceptual design in a matter of days instead of months. A highly practical designer with an appreciation for both the art of performance and the realities of production deadlines and budgets, Jason specializes in theatrical, broadcast and architectural lighting design, stage and theatrical rigging along with auditorium layout and front of house design.
Prior to joining AD, Jason was a successful freelance designer working on projects at numerous theatres, worship facilities and television studios. He served as the Resident Lighting Designer and Staff Technical Director for the WaterTower Theatre in Addison, Texas. He also served as Lead Electrician at Alliance Theatre Company as well as Technical Director at the University of Mississippi where he received his Masters of Fine Arts in Theatrical Lighting Design. Jason has rececieved numbers awards for his lighting designs for a variety of productions.
