ROBERT ROSE

Robert Rose understands the interdependence of architecture, aesthetics, acoustics and technical systems and works to find a balance where the elements work together to create an experience in the space.
Robert first started down the path as an audio designer standing in the registration line of his high school. The shop class for which he wanted to register was full, and the course next in line was electronics. The teacher persuaded him to sign up and over the next semester, Robert became fascinated with the electronics of audio.
Robert went on to university and received his Electrical Engineering degree which he credits with teaching him to research problems and analyze solutions. He then joined a national A/V contracting firm which gave him solid grounding in the realities of construction. During this time, he became proficient in computerized audio and control systems.
In 1999, Robert joined AD which gave him the opportunity to work more closely with clients throughout the design and construction phases. A gifted project manager, Robert is adept at developing solutions to core room problems. His primary focus is to work with clients and design teams to generate options so that they reach their goals for the space. He has great talent for applying the client's vision to design; this with his ability to assess practical needs, make him an excellent team lead.
He is highly experienced in audio system design with a focus on achieving speech intelligibility in highly reverberant spaces. Robert believes that applying basic physics principles is the cornerstone to solid audio design. Robert will tell you that gadgets are released all the time, but that in the end solid engineering and physics win out.
Some of Robert's projects include, Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO, Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa, Davis Recital Hall at the University of Northern Iowa and Stanley Theatre in Utica, NY.
Robert is a senior consultant in our Dallas office.
