Bob Schmidt provides Acoustic Dimensions with a strong background in engineering and public speaking on acoustic issues, often guest lecturing on a variety of acoustic related subjects.
A graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Bob began by working for an international manufacturer of HVAC, air filtration and noise control systems. His tenure with Industrial Acoustics Company culminated in his attainment as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Bob’s twenty-five years of noise control experience has included development of new products and markets, technical product applications, and sales management of IAC’s Mechanical, Architectural, Industrial and Medical Life Sciences markets.
Special acoustic projects over the years have included the development of Packless Fume Hood Silencers, Low Frequency Rectangular and Circular Silencers, Ultra-Quiet on floor commercial Air Handling Systems, and Hybrid Passive/Active Attenuators. These targeted concerns directly related to the resolution of sound isolation and noise and vibration control issues in a variety of significant client situations.
As an active participant in the acoustic world, Bob is a member of ASHRAE and ASTM and has often guest lectured on subjects such as New Developments in Pre-Engineered Noise Control and the new ANSI 12.60 standard for Acoustical Performance and Design Guidelines for Schools.
Bob is a senior consultant in our New York office.
