As part of the project to renovate the Parliament of Canada buildings, a temporary House of Commons Chamber is being planned to be erected in the central courtyard of the Parliament buildings. This temporary facility will also include a Gallery, Government and Opposition Lobbies, Press Room, Committee Rooms, and a glass roof.
The expansive glass roof covering the House of Commons will incorporate acoustic and daylight control to support the broadcast and recording requirements, as well as live and amplified speech.

Extensive computer modeling has been used to quantify the location and amounts of absorptive surfaces required to control reverberant and reflected sound energy. Our work is directed toward insuring the highest quality acoustic environments, achieving excellent speech intelligibility, high sound isolation and low background noise levels.
