WLOY - Loyola College
Baltimore, Maryland
Project Type: New Construction
AD Scope: Room Acoustics
Working closely with Ziger Snead Architects, Acoustic Dimensions designed the radio studio for Loyola (Baltimore) College as a great facility for student use. The on-air studio contains a console, media players and an interview set. The production studio incorporates all the latest digital audio technology. There are computer workstations for use by both WLOY and other student activities.
The room acoustics of each space are controlled by sound absorptive and diffusive wall and ceiling panels. Sound isolation between spaces is maintained by multiple-layer gypsum board partitions, and double-glazed windows with sloped glass help control both sound isolation and sound reflections in the studios. A quiet air distribution system ensures that on-air signal remains clear.
