AD Scope: Acoustics, Room Design AssistanceNew 110,000-SF facility focused on research on effective and sustainable solutions to problems of energy and the environment. Includes shared laboratory facilities, including nanofabrication and clean room space, an imaging center, labs for research, and flexible lab and teaching spaces. The design entails a set of three interconnected buildings that will be built of mostly brick and glass and designed around a series of gardens.
AD scope of services centered on acoustics for the 200-seat lecture hall / theater used for presentations and seminars, as well as occasional music performances. Acoustic design considerations include use of a natural ventilation strategy for the lecture hall, including consideration of "dissolving" walls and roof.
