This small-scale performing arts centre provides the Bromsgrove community with a venue that has excellent acoustics for music recitals, opera, drama and amplified sound.
The room is equipped with bleacher seating, a forestage lift and a house curtain that can retract into the side stage. The fully-adjustable acoustics include curtains/sound-absorbing acoustic panels on the side walls and movable wall panels that form a concert platform enclosure for unamplified music events.
For additional flexibility in use, the seating can be retracted to provide a flat-floored auditorium for exhibitions.
Bromsgrove hosts an annual music festival with international performers, and this venue provides an acoustic of suitably high standard. The great height of the room will sustain reverberance for small ensembles; the narrow width will provide strong early lateral reflections for envelopment.
