The Juanita K Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts at Missouri State University must support a wide variety of performances including drama, dance, music. For student artists, it is the experience in this hall that they will hopefully remember for the rest of their careers. The hall also supports a tremendous guest series with performers ranging from Peter Frampton and Wynton Marsalis to the Little Theatre of the Deaf. The Hall needed systems that would be reliable for student artists and would provide the quality needed so that visiting artists would enjoy playing the Hall.
Hammons Hall needed to provide a sound system capable of supporting self-promoted events with limited or no outside rental. The original house sound system, installed 10 years ago, was designed as a high-quality system; however entire portions had been deferred during construction because of project costs. AD was asked to revisit the design to not only bring it up to its original intent, but to also include any advancements in technology that would enhance the performance to meet today’s standards.
Another need of the Hall was to dramatically improve its technical rider compliance for the outside events that are booked in the hall during the year. Historically, the hall had to rent for every event that had a significant sound system requirement. It is critically important to the success of the hall to be "technical rider" friendly.
