AD Scope: Acoustics, Conceptual A/V DesignPearl Stable was originally built in 1894 to house the horses that pulled the beer wagons of the Pearl Brewing Company. The building served that purpose for 30 years until motorized vehicles replaced the use of horses. In the decades following, the old stable was used a a storage facility then a hospitality room for the brewery. In 2000, the Pearl Brewing company closed and the entire property was sold to new owners who are transforming it into a mixed-use complex, including a culinary institute, restaurant and future housing and office space.
Part of this revitalization project is the conversion of Pearl Stable in to "a uniquely elegant site" for meetings, conferences, weddings, receptions and other indoor events. AD had the opportunity to design the acoustics for this unique structure whose oval shape provided an interesting challenge.
