University School is an independent boys' school in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. Founded in 1890, the school was chartered as a college preparatory school. It consists of two campuses. The original campus at Shaker Heights contains kindergarten through eighth grade. The Huntington Valley campus houses the high school.
Conway Auditorium was constructed on the Shaker Heights’s campus adjacent to Brown Hall. It includes a theater/auditorium, music rooms, a digital video studio, a digital music (MIDI) studio and additional classroom space.
The acoustics for the space were designed to support the performers. Because the proscenium wall does not extend to the roof, the stage is acoustically coupled to the auditorium allowing the performer and audience to share the same acoustic space even when ensembles are playing.
