Acoustic Dimensions designed a 25-seat screening room in Dolby’s Manhattan headquarters. In addition, AD designed the audio-for-film mix room and speaker research lab.
The state-of-the-art screening facilities in New York are capable of playing back all 35 mm digital sound formats, with simultaneous computer QC. The room is also equipped with a 2K digital cinema projector, and the rooms are often used for image technology testing. Acoustic Dimensions designed the acoustic environment to exceed Dolby’s specifications for room acoustics, sound isolation, and background noise levels. Built within a high-rise office building, the space includes isolated room-in-room construction
Dolby’s Project Laboratory can assist with Dolby Digital or Dolby E layback to high-definition video, and supports a wide array of audio and video formats to help with challenging technical issues. The space also provides a superior listening environment for testing loudspeakers and experimental processing formats.
