The renovation of an existing main stage building within Universal City will become the new set for the ‘Live Show’ in 2009. Additional support spaces were housed within a newly constructed four story tower including offices and edit, mixing and recording production spaces.
Acoustic Dimensions provided analysis of updated mechanical systems to minimize noise inside as well as at surrounding properties. We conducted sound absorption testing on the existing acoustic panels and proposed treatments in coordinating the aesthetic requirements with the desired acoustic environment while allowing NBCU to reuse the majority of the treatments.
The layouts of the production spaces incorporate large acoustic windows and complex constructions providing a visible connection between the users of the spaces while achieving high levels of sound isolation.
