In 1996, as fans carted away bits of the old Anaheim Stadium construction, AD was hired to provide complete design services for the upgrade of sound and video systems and acoustical design for the new Angel Stadium.

The audio system in place worked very well for play-by-play and traditional audio fill during innings. Upgrade was needed for more dynamic reproduction of entertainment segments. Components that were either at the end of their life cycle or outdated needed to be replaced. After evaluating the existing equipment and discussing the client’s goals, AD decided upon a distributed sound approach for the new audio system. The system was commissioned in 1998 following a two year process coinciding with the timetable of the renovation.
