The new Hard Rock Live and Cafe venue at Universal Studios Florida is a unique facility for Hard Rock Cafe. The facility is comprised of a new Hard Rock Cafe restaurant, attached to a 2800 seat capacity performance venue for concerts. This unique concert venue with a full stagehouse is also equipped for banquets, music workshops, and conferences. The Hard Rock Live venue provides the Central Florida community with a world class venue to hear a variety of live music performance in a concert/nightclub atmosphere.
Acoustic Dimensions was commissioned to provide acoustics and live sound reinforcement design services for the live venue. The room shaping, finishes and sound isolation and noise control were developed to allow live audio recording of performances, excellent performer and audience interaction and sound isolation between Cafe events and the adjacent restaurant.
The sound systems design is controlled by a Peavey Media Matrix system and has been developed to act as a full touring concert system while also being user friendly enough to serve for other less demanding events such as banquets and conferences.
The venue opened in January 1999 and has hosted a wide range of performers including Elton John, Ringo Starr, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Natalie Merchant, the Florida Symphony Orchestra, and David Sanborn.
