The new Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Museum and Retail Complex is the third home for the Hall of Fame. This basketball shaped museum and entertainment complex is a far cry from the original single building Hall of Fame once located on the campus of Springfield College, basketball's birthplace. The ground floor alone is made up of 50,000 square feet of retail space and a 200-seat theater. The complex also includes exhibition galleries, a gift shop, administrative offices and , of course, a basketball court that also serves as an atrium/meeting area.
AD was hired to design the architectural acoustics of the theater space and core. AD was also hired to design the shell for the above spaces, to control the noise and vibration from mechanical and electrical systems in the above spaces and design aspects of sound isolation for the above spaces, core and shell of the facility.
