Since its inauguration in 1995, Port Aventura has become a favorite family destination, with an attendance of some three million visitors per season. The park is laid out on rolling hills overlooking the Mediterranean and is a collection of distinct worlds, comprising full-scale recreations of classic villages from Polynesia, Mexico, the Mediterranean, China and the old American Wild West. Attractions include a global range of live shows and concert stages as well as roller-coaster and whitewater rides.

The Universal Studios 1999 enhancement of the park’s entertainment facilities, positions Port Aventura as the premier themed entertainment destination in Europe.

In partnership with SPLIS, AD provided design services for the new lagoon show, including loudspeaker design, front-end playback, audio programming and design coordination of the final soundtrack.

The lagoon show is the end of the day celebration for Port Aventura. Each of the themed villages has a part in the program. The show is all about color, light and movement. There are projections on a water screen, speed boats and jetskis flying kites shaped like birds and planes, larger-than-life puppets on the cliff (gigantes), waterworks and fireworks. Our work was to give movement and impact to the audio experience so that it would add to the total experience.
