Bethany World Prayer Center’s ministry in north Baton Rouge, Louisiana, needed a 2,700 seat sanctuary to serve it’s congregation located in the southern part of the city. Flexibility in the new space was important and the project was fast-tracked to accommodate the rapid growth.
AD provided the design for acoustics, audio, video, theatrical and architectural lighting.
Speech intelligibility was a priority in the sound system design as well as strong support for praise and worship leading. We designed an alternating left/right speaker system. Onstage monitoring is a combination of wedge monitors and headphone monitors.
Video is used for PowerPoint presentations and song support. Front projection was chosen to work within the architectural parameters of the existing space.
The church needed a lighting system which could impact the mood in the room. Services at Bethany have moments of high-energy, moving worship; other moments are quiet and contemplative. The lighting needed to support this on demand. The sophisticated components, hardware, software, cabling, color and special effects, were designed to give a great deal of capability on a fixed budget.
