Black Rock Congregational is a non-denominational group of "pretty ordinary people who are dedicated to following the extraordinary person of Jesus Christ". The Church is planning a new $30 million 85,000 gsf facility in the same location as the current facility that will encompass a 950-seat Main Sanctuary for both contemporary and traditional worship.
The room's natural acoustics are designed to support contemporary worship, with electronic enhancement for the traditional service.The project includes a 150-seat traditional Chapel, primarily for weddings and funerals a Welcome Center, and Youth Center for Jr. and Sr. High Students, a kid's worship room for elementary school children on the 2nd floor, as well as a large Multi-Purpose Room that will be used as a gym, multi-purpose room and for the Sanctuary (post-modern) service.
Budgets for the audio, video and lighting systems have not been set, but are expected to be on the order of $1 M-$1.5M.
