Brentwood Connection Center
The campus for Brentwood Baptist Church needed a space to support the greater church community as well as youth and young adult programs. The 75,000 square foot Connection Center has basketball cages, a cafe with 200 seats, free wi-fi and a stage, bookstore and a contemporary, flexible worship space that seats 1000 and is designed to facilitate spiritual, social and recreational activities.
The multi-purpose worship space was designed with flexibility in mind. The seating is retractable so the space can be used as either a flat floor room or with raked seating to provide for a better congregational worship experience. Portable carts house the audio, video, and control positions and utilize a trench in the floor to accommodate cabling and changes in location. Catwalks are used over the audience to access the theatrical lighting positions. The upstage wall is floor to ceiling glass which can be left open to allow connection with the outside, or closed with either sun-shades or a blackout curtain for productions.
Displays were provided throughout the Connection Center to display information and provide a look into the multi-purpose room. These displays are fed hi-definition information through standard CAT5 cabling originating in the video production room. The production room will also serve as the primary control space once the Church begins image magnification of the events.
