Covenant Life is the mother church of a family of churches known as Sovereign Grace Ministries. It also houses a recording studio, a college and a home school program within its walls. With so much happening under one roof, one can expect to find a couple of out of the ordinary requests when designing their new facility.
Most unusual of all was the request to have mechanical bleacher seats in the back two sections of their worship center. These seats are needed to cover two gym floors that are used by the school during the week. When the worship center is needed for worship on the weekends, the push of a button is all that is needed to transform a play area into additional seating needed to seat Covenant Life’s large congregation.
In addition to the weekly services, the auditorium is used for concerts and conferences, and the acoustics, audio, video and lighting were designed to support the wide range of programming needs.
