Christ UMC of Plano, believing that it's important to be good stewards of all the resources God has given us, has designed their new 54,000 sq ft sanctuary to be environmentally friendly with hopes to be the first LEED certified full-time sanctuary in Texas. They also had specific goals and desires when it came to the look and feel of their new worship space. It was important that the room reflect the church's unique identity with a warm and inviting environment that supports the conversational teaching style of the pastor alongside an eclectic and highly interactive music program.
Acoustic Dimensions was tasked with designing the acoustics to support the Reuter pipe organ and traditional music while maintaining speech intelligibility. Concealing the sound system was important to the appearance of the sanctuary. The speaker system design applied a unique array configuration to provide even coverage throughout the seating area while maintaining high gain before feedback. The church also needed to implement a high quality video production and projection systems into the new worship space for IMAG with future planning to feed a remove video venue site
Additional spaces in AD's scope of work included the lobby, offices and choir rehearsal space.
