First Baptist Church of Greeneville, which began in the 1870’s, made a decision to renovate their current campus and build a new worship center. The facility seats 1,000 people and is used for traditional and blended worship services.
The church wanted to make sure certain goals took priority in the design of their worship center. In addition to requiring that speech be highly intelligble and the reinforcement of music in the congregational seating area be full range, it was important that the room’s acoustics inspire and assist in creating a high level of energy and excitement among the participants by allowing them to hear their own sound and the sound of others in the room.
AD design services for the main sanctuary were in the areas of acoustics, including sound isolation and noise and vibration control, audio systems, video projection, theatrical lighting and space planning, conduit, heat and power loads for the video production accomondations.
