The primary function of the Commons at the First Baptist Church of Orlando will be as a community space prior to and between services and for limited overflow seating for the main sanctuary. However, the church is also planning to renovate the existing Sanctuary and this renovation is expected to require the church to relocate church services to the Commons area for up to 10-12 months. The dual usage required a strategic plan for the transition of acoustics, audio, video (projection, TV broadcast), and lighting for the successful interim church services then to the ultimate use as a community space.
