Ingleside Baptist Church’s new worship facility has a very beautiful, unique design that incorporates large walls of glass on either side of the stage area. Although beautiful, the presences of the glass created challenges for acoustics, audio and video in the room.

Acoustical problems were overcome by placing curtains around the platform and absorptive treatment on the walls. This works to create an intimate feel in the room. A hard floor and ceiling were also designed for the room which helps with congregational response and singing.

An alternating left-right speaker system was chosen for the room because the room needed uniform coverage on the floor and less energy on the glass walls. A true stereo system or left-center-right system would have placed too much energy on the walls.

Because of all the natural light let in my the glass walls, extremely bright video projectors had to be used in the room. The projectors are 10,000 ansi lumens.

After the design of the worship center was complete, the church hired an extremely experienced technical director who suggested changes to the room. AD worked closely with him to make sure that his suggestions were implemented successfully into the room.
