Skyline Church has been a staple in San Diego’s east county community, holding their first service in a small 350 seat auditorium in 1954. Since that time, they have continued to grow and are now in the process of building a 2,000 seat worship center, chapel, café, and a 4,000 square foot Atrium space for connection. AD saw the Skyline project as the perfect opportunity to hold a Technical Systems Design Workshop. The goal of the workshop was to gather the church staff with the design and contracting team and work through acoustics and technical systems concepts, engineering, coordination and accommodation in a face-to-face collaborative atmosphere. At the end of the three day workshop, all major decisions were made resulting in systems that not only met the design and ministry goals but also fit within Skyline’s budget.
