When AD was hired to design the sound system and provide acoustics design for the new worship center, narthex and daily chapel for St. Henry Catholic Church, one of the first considerations was the priority of the pipe organ and vocals. The project acoustics were balanced between support for the pipe organ and vocal intelligibility. A small line array system was integrated below the organ chambers to provide a focal point and precedence for vocals in addition to music support.
The majority of loudspeaker coverage was achieved with loudspeakers integrated into pendant light fixtures. Better pattern control than would typically be expected from the small loudspeaker in the lighting pendant was achieved using a cardioid up firing loudspeaker.
