AD met with Charles Swindoll, bestselling author and host of “Insight for Living,” in July of 1998 to discuss his plans for a new interdenominational church in Frisco, Texas. As one of the top five fastest-growing cities in the nation, Frisco serves as a bedroom community for people who work in the Dallas metroplex.
The desire was to build a church for people of all ages, colors, cultures and backgrounds with great music, meaningful worship, in-depth relationships and a strong Bible-teaching ministry.
The newly completed facility is a multipurpose auditorium with a flat floor, which seats 1,500. The room itself gives a sense of closeness between the pulpit and the congregation, both visually and sonically.
Although video projection is not part of the current program, cabling infrastructure for video was included so that projection can be added as the congregation grows. Basic platform lighting was set up for area control and designed at a level to serve future IMAG video. DMX 512 is used for dimming, and the system was designed so that color changers and moving lights can be easily added for special productions.
The project was design/build by Commercial Structures and Interiors (CSI) of Lewisville, TX. AD provided platform layout, room shaping and acoustics recommendations. We added terraced seating at the rear of the auditorium to improve sightlines.
Worship at Stonebriar Community Church is a blend of traditional hymns and choruses. Worship is led from the pulpit by the music minister, and instrumentation can range from a piano to a 25-piece orchestra. The choir can accommodate 100 voices.
AD is currently working with Stonebriar on strategic planning for their campus.
